There are many amazing day trips Iceland has in store for you! For one, I can share with you my very own personal story of our amazing day trip to Iceland.
My best friend and I booked the two-day South Coast and Jokulsarlon Lagoon Glacier Hike tour. We can say that we really enjoyed the wonderful experience altogether with the help of the helpful and accommodating tour guide.
We saw the marvelous lava fields and waterfalls, the picture-perfect vistas from the start till the end.
As for our tour guide, we can tell that he really likes his job and he clearly takes pride in doing it. Not to mention that he’s knowledgeable in various locations of the country. He fetched us up on time from our guest house. There were 10 of us amongst the group and that also includes him.
Throughout the 2-day tour, the road conditions vary and our guide was the one driving; he constantly kept us safe and comfy. The tour we have necessitated us to stay at our own hotels overnight and it was located at a farm in Hofn also known as the Gerdi Guesthouse. The place was really nice and new and comfy. Not to mention that it was convenient, plus it’s truly accessible in a way that we never have to drive too faraway elsewhere. This gave us a good probability in knowing more about the awesome people in our tour. Yes, they were that nice and cool that we even ended up bonding more with most of them throughout the duration of our stay in our day trip in Iceland—and we befriended each other in Facebook! Plus, the hotel staff was extremely warm and cordial.
We explored to all the fabulous and amazing places which were mentioned in the tour’s description. We saw the marvelous lava fields and waterfalls, the picture-perfect vistas from the start till the end. The highlight of the entire tour was the enjoyable boat ride on the Svinafellsjokull glacier hike and Jokulsarlon Lagoon. Truly, it was one of the best experiences ever-- and that’s saying despite the snowy, rainy and cold weather we have to endure. In the end, I can say that it’s worth each krona that we spent.
